What is the correct measurement for a macule? 5mm or 1cm? (Discussion)

Hello everyone!

As I am learning, I find there is not a conscesus on the proper measurement of a macule, papule, etc...

I see a few reference of less than 5mm being a macule.

I have also seen a reference of less than 1cm being a macule (instead of a patch).

Can anyone direct me on what is the standard?
