Skin Safe is a resource available to all DNA members. I had a very rewarding experience with this resource in one of my recent patient encounters. An adolescent had hand dermatitis that was not clearing despite use of excimer laser and topical steroids. Patch testing revealed an allergic response to one of the common preservatives found in many emollients. I shared the Skin Safe site with her father who was able to access the program and was delighted he had the ability via his smart phone to review ingredients when purchasing emollients for his child. The father was delighted to find a "patient friendly app" and I was pleased to be able to provide him with the information. If you have not yet used this resource I strongly urge you to review the available features.
