Scopes and Standards

Post by kellilani » Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:15 pm

The first Dermatology Nursing Scopes and Standards were developed in 1992 and approved in 1993. In 2003 these standards were updated. In 2006 the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Scopes and Standards were added. The Scopes and Standards identify who we are, what we do, how we do it, where we do it and who the individuals that we serve as Dermatology Nurses. It is the document that defines what it means to be a Dermatology Nurse!

The Scopes and Standards are currently being updated. This document represents hundreds of hours of volunteer time. This document is part of the process of Dermatology Nursing attaining specialty status from the American Nurses Association.

Be on the lookout on the DNA website so that you can review and comment on the document.
